Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) are the common pathogens caused sustained illness of respiratory tract in the pig farms. When pig infected with these two pathogen usually displayed post-weaning multi-systemic wasting syndrome and porcine respiratory disease complex, and caused serious economic losses in the porcine industry. In this study, a novel bivalent vaccine against M. hyopneumoniae and PCV2 was developed to prevent these diseases. The safety test in the pigs, challenge test, clinical signs observation, serology test and lung lesion scores were all used to test the efficacy of the bivalent vaccine. The results showed after vaccination the titers of anti-M. hyopneumoniae and anti-PCV2 antibodies elevated and showed fewer adverse effect ratio. The viremia of PCV2 and lung lesion scores caused by M. hyopneumoniae were reduced after vaccination. Our results showed good efficacy of this novel bivalent vaccine.
