The Pig Research Institute Taiwan (PRIT) was founded by the United Nations.

  • In 2001

The PRIT was renamed Animal Technology Institute Taiwan (ATIT) and founded as a research foundation.

  • In 2014

The Council of Agriculture (COA) established Agricultural Technology Research Institute (ATRI). The ATIT was merged into ATRI.

ATRI was formed by combining the following agencies:

  • AgriTI – Office for Agricultural Technology Industry
  • ATIT – Animal Technology Institute Taiwan
  • COAT – Commercialization Office of Agricultural Technology
Whilst still a foundation, ATRI is now responsible for all Taiwanese veterinary research coordination and intellectual property for livestock, aquatic and plant research and technology.
